The Whisper of God: An Invitation to the Secret PlaceUkážka
Stop, Look, and Listen.
Stop, look, and listen! There is an invitation from the Holy Spirit to capture this statement with child-like wonder. This is what we were told as children, “Stop, look, and listen.” The Holy Spirit is gently reminding us today, “Son, daughter, stop for Me, look for Me, and listen for My voice.” We have to nurture this habit of waiting on the Father. At times we get too fixated on the things that have to be done or the places we have to go that we miss the gifts and revelation the Lord longs to give us. Hear the heart of your Father today. The Lord is saying, “Come a little closer! Draw near to Me. I have things I want to show you.”
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.” Waiting on the Lord renews our strength! The word ‘wait’ in Hebrew is ‘qâvâh’, which means “to wait, look for, hope, expect.” Waiting on the Lord doesn’t mean we’re to be idle or passive. We are called to wait on the Lord with an expectant, hopeful heart! That is the place where He rushes in and surpasses our every expectation with His glory!
Press into the heart of Jesus, lay your head upon His chest, and wait. This is much like young love, when a boyfriend and girlfriend wait on the phone in silence simply because they can’t get enough of one another. Consecrate your time for intimacy with the Father; make it sacred and holy for Him. Abide in the nearness of His presence. Posture your heart toward Jesus with expectancy, and watch as He reveals Himself to you!
