Keep Your Love On: ConnectionSample
Day 21
We have a deep, God-created need for intimacy, love, and comfort. However, if we look to things that were not designed to meet these needs and elevate them above everything else, making them idols, the result is always bondage and destruction. Faith is built in a relationship as two people commit to keep God as their ultimate source, ultimate comforter, and ultimate authority. The result of this commitment is that both people are able to govern themselves, accessing a boundless well of spiritual resources that will sustain them in moving toward their relational goals.
- How does faith contribute to your ability to keep your love on towards someone with whom you're fighting for connection?
- After an argument do you typically put your energy toward building a case against the other person, or do you turn your attention to God?
- Who protects your heart when you make the decision to keep your love on with someone who is unsafe?
