Grief Bites: A New Approach to Growing Through Grief

DAY 35 OF 60

Are you continuing to struggle with the hard question, "WHY?"

In times of heartache, it is totally normal to question God why a tragedy has happened...in fact, as mentioned earlier, Jesus and David both questioned God.

When we seek God's heart and turn to Him with our questions, we do so for one of two reasons: to understand and submit or to disagree and rebel.

When we ask in a way to lift up our heart, we begin a journey to seek to understand how best to submit to God's will.
When we ask in a way that raises a fist to disagree, we begin a journey of bitterness that will add many more heartaches and losses to our life.

Today, I encourage you to go to God with your questions. You may receive an answer today, this year, or in a few years...or you may not receive an answer until later.

We all want answers...we all have questions...we all want our hearts and lives repaired...we all struggle through pain so we can have a more purposeful life.
Some are even to the point they literally are trying to save their own life or the life of a loved one after tragic grief.

The ONLY one who can achieve any of this is God, so go to Him and ask the tough questions you have...GROW through your grief...wrestle with God (in a respectful way with the ultimate goal of submitting to His heart)...ask Him to carry you through the pain...courageously ask Him to make something good come from your heartache...plead with Him to teach you DYNAMIC spiritual and life lessons throughout your grief.

To those who wrestle with God, there is a great reward: a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him and the crown of life that He has promised to those who love Him. Get alone with God today, pour out your heart, and ask the tough questions...beg Him to meet you right where you are. Tell Him where you truly are at in your grief journey, share with Him ALL of your thoughts and feelings...right or wrong. He KNOWS what you are thinking and feeling, you are not going to shock Him.

You may or may not receive answers here on earth but you will find something greater: God's heart.

Going to God with your heartache develops an intensely intimate friendship with God. I encourage you to begin or to beautifully continue that friendship today.

It is amazing to have Someone there 24/7 to help balance out a broken heart. He desires to help you make it through your grief. He wants you to have the best life possible, a life brimming with blessings and joy. Yes, even in spite of grief, life challenges, and trials.

Read James chapter 1 and see what God has to share with your heart.
Praying right now for God to minister in a new amazing way to all who are going through grief!
