Walk With Jesus: 21 Days Through MatthewSample
Jesus and His disciples went to Jerusalem to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Passover. Jesus knew that Jerusalem was a dangerous place for Him to go. The Jewish leaders, the Pharisees and the Sadducees, were very unhappy with him. Jesus had broken so many rules! He challenged the authority of the Jewish leaders who had made up rules for the Jews to follow. Jesus offered the people a new kind of Kingdom - a heavenly one. Even though the Pharisees were angry at Jesus, the people were excited to see Him. Jesus rode on a donkey into Jerusalem, and people greeted him and said ñHosanna!î while they waved palm branches. This fulfilled an Old Testament prophecy about the Messiah. GodÍs promises were coming true _ He had sent a Messiah to save His people from their sin. Can you imagine what it would have been like to see the Messiah you had been waiting for?
