Forty Days in the Psalmsනියැදිය

When I (Josiah) was young, I thought my grandpa was a superhero. He had a big white beard and an even bigger laugh. He could fix so many things and was as strong as a horse. I used to do something to get his attention because I wanted to matter to him and be a part of his life. The day he asked me if I wanted to learn how to play chess will be forever etched in my mind. He knew about me! I mattered enough for him to take his time to teach me.
This is a big world, and the fear that we don’t matter can sometimes be overwhelming. What a joy to read in Psalm 3 that God Himself is our Glory and the Lifter of our heads. This is true in many ways, but none are as clear and powerful as the Cross of Jesus. We matter to Him! God has reached down to save us and to teach us...not just in a Book, but through the Life of His own Son.
With joy, the Psalmist writes, “I cried aloud to the Lord, and He answered me from His Holy hill.” In Jesus, we see both God’s Transcendent Power over death and His Incredible Intimacy toward those who call upon His Name.
RESPOND IN PRAYER:
The Lord hears you! Where do you need Him to be your Shield and the Lifter of your head today?

About this Plan

The Psalms were sung, prayed, and memorized by Jesus. They were a resource for Him and should be for us. While this Plan works best as a resource for Lent, it may be used in any season of life.
