How to Be Unstoppable for God

DAY 5 OF 7

Have you ever considered forgetfulness to be a good thing? Most of the time, it’s not. Being forgetful isn’t a quality to be proud of unless it is about forgetting the past and moving forward, as Paul explains in Philippians 3:13-14:

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

We often tend to get stuck in our pasts. We relive specific negative experiences, talk about the people who hurt us, and act like victims of whatever happened to us.

It is hard to let go of the past, but so important!!

Forgiving those who have hurt us is essential to letting go of the past. Jesus taught us:

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” – Matthew 6:14-15

Moving forward in victory and walking in the Spirit may not be possible while you are still living in the past, living in sin or holding on to unforgiveness. The key to moving forward is forgiving others so that you can receive God’s forgiveness.

This is a powerful truth.

I invite you to give your past and all the offences you’ve been holding onto back to God. Let’s pray together:

“Heavenly Father, help me to stop dwelling on my past. It’s so tempting. I know that when I spend my time looking back, it’s impossible to go forward. Holy Spirit, remind me of any offences I haven’t (fully) forgiven yet and heal the wounds of my past so I can live out the extraordinary, abundant life You have in store for me— in Jesus’ name, Amen!”

Hey! You are a Chamatkar
