Serving God by Loving Your Spouse

The way we serve and care for our spouse is a direct reflection of how we honor the Lord. However, your self-centeredness often gets in the way. Instead of focusing on your spouse’s shortcomings or how they fall short of serving you, you are called to shift your perspective. Imagine the transformation in your marriage if your focus became: How can I better serve, love, and care for my spouse? This mindset reflects Christ’s sacrificial love and humility, prioritizing giving over receiving.

When you pour into your spouse with intentional love and care, you glorify God. This act of service becomes a form of worship, showing that we value the blessings He’s entrusted to us. Prayer

Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve let self-centeredness interfere with my marriage. Teach me to focus less on what my spouse can do for me and more on how I can serve, love, and care for them better. Help me to use the gifts You’ve given me to reflect Your love and grace in my marriage. May my words, actions, and attitude glorify You and point my spouse to Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
