Day 3: The Gift of God's Presence

Scripture: Matthew 28:20
"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

One of the most powerful gifts God gives us in the midst of unmet longings is His presence. Jesus promised His disciples that He would be with them always, even when they couldn’t see Him. This promise is not just for the disciples of the past but for us today as well. In times of longing and waiting, we are never alone.

Think of the story of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35). They were grieving the loss of Jesus and confused about their future, yet they didn’t recognize that Jesus Himself was walking alongside them. It wasn’t until they broke bread with Him that their eyes were opened. Sometimes, in our own longing, we fail to recognize that Jesus is near. When we turn our hearts toward Him, even in the midst of our pain, He reveals Himself to us and comforts us in ways we cannot understand.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for Your promise to be with me always. Even in my longing and confusion, I trust that You are walking alongside me. Open my eyes to Your presence, and help me to recognize You in the midst of my struggles. May Your peace fill me, knowing that I am never alone. In Your precious name, Amen.
