The life-transforming, sin-conquering, death-overcoming power of the cross and resurrection of Jesus will never be fully grasped by us this side of eternity. However, to Seek His Life is to pursue this revelation and live out of its truth and power while here on earth.

We are not held by the confines of natural life alone once we are born again. We step into resurrection life given to us in our redemption. The power that raised Christ from the dead is the power that now lives within us through the Holy Spirit. We have a whole new life to live out in Him and through Him, and His promise to us is life in all its fullness.

To seek His life is to utterly let go of our old, unredeemed, sinful nature and embrace the freedom and righteousness given to us through Jesus. Sin brings death- not just eternal death, but death to our thinking, emotions, health, and relationships now. We cannot hold onto sin and experience the fullness of life Jesus promises.

Repentance is one of the most beautiful ways we seek His life for ourselves. In it, we find freedom, hope, joy, and healing. It restores us to intimacy with the one who is life itself. Repentance is what moved us from death to life - and it keeps us living in the power of the life that is ours now through Jesus.

To seek His Life is also to utterly let go of our old perspective of what matters and our own life agenda. Our heart focus shifts to what matters to Jesus; to an eternal perspective that should shape our thinking, decisions, and passion.

The ‘world’ and all that is temporal within it, will no longer hold us when we seek His Life. We are called to Kingdom purpose; chosen as royal priests within His Kingdom and tasked to take the hope and life of the gospel to all the world. Our vision goes from me and now to Jesus and eternity. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. This is why He died. This is why He rose again. When we seek His Life, we take up our cross and lay down our life in pursuit of his calling and purpose.

Resurrection life - His Life - is ours.

What do you need to let go of to walk in the power of His Life? What freedom and fullness and purpose of life is yours to find?

Prayer

Father God, thank you that resurrection life is mine because of Jesus. Show me what is holding me back from living in the fullness and power of this life. Help me let go of a timid, grave-tending life. I lift up my eyes. Let me see life from your perspective. May the life you came to give me, be the life I live, in Jesus’ Name.
