Day 2: The Blessing of Purpose and Calling

God has a unique and specific calling for each woman, whether she is married, single, or somewhere in between. While marriage is a beautiful blessing, it is not the sole purpose of our lives. Consider the life of Deborah, a prophetess and judge in Israel. She was not married to a king, yet God used her as a powerful leader in Israel. Deborah led Israel with wisdom and courage, fulfilling her purpose in God’s kingdom without the constraints of a marital relationship.

Similarly, Anna, the widow who spent her days in the temple praying and fasting, was used by God in powerful ways. When she saw the baby Jesus, she praised God and spoke about Him to everyone who was looking for redemption. Anna’s purpose was not dependent on marriage; it was centered on her devotion to God. She became a witness to the fulfillment of God's promises, simply because she devoted her life to serving Him.

The apostle Paul also exemplifies a life of purpose outside of marriage. He fully embraced his calling to spread the gospel, lacking distractions by personal relationships. In fact, Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 7 that singleness allows us to serve God with an undivided heart. God has a unique purpose for you as well, one that is not bound by marriage. It’s important to recognize that your life is full of potential to bring God glory in countless ways—whether through your career, ministry, or relationships.

As you reflect on your own life today, remember that your calling is not dependent on being married. God's purpose for you is just as significant, and it may be that you are exactly where He wants you to be, serving Him in powerful ways.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for the purpose You have for me. Help me to live out the calling You’ve placed on my life, knowing that You have equipped me for good works. May I seek Your will above all else and be a light in this world, reflecting Your love and grace. Amen.
