The story of the Good Samaritan is often told to explain that our neighbour can be everyone around us. In our context, the priest and the Levite could be the the pastor that is busy getting to his church service, the bishop, or also the politician or even a doctor. But none of them stopped to help the person that was robbed. They were all busy following their duties. The only one that stopped to help in that dangerous situation was the Samaritan, the one person in the Jewish society that was not accepted. They were outcasts; Jews did not want to be near them. Today, the Samaritan could be the terrorist. Imagine the last person you would think to help you. You would not expect it from a terrorist to stop and help you, but in this parable, Jesus says even this terrorist is your neighbour. There is no one that could not be your neighbour.
As a follower of Christ, you are to “love the Lord, your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbour as yourself” (Lk 10.27). God makes no difference between people. He loves the foreigner just as much as he loves you, and he longs for the criminal to change his life and follow Him just as much as he longs for everyone else to do the same. By showing love to your neighbour, no matter who he or she is and what he or she has done in the past, you can be the reason this person turns to God. Do not make assumptions, but trust the Holy Spirit. Your task is to love your neighbour. Show God’s love to your neighbour. Be light and salt to the world by passing on God’s love to your neighbour.

About this Plan
Jesus left the church the vision of a movement when he challenged us to reproduce from our own Jerusalem into “Judea, Samaria and the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). For us to see a movement, we need every Christ follower to adopt Jesus' personal mission to “seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10). Evangelism is core to the mission of Jesus and essential to accomplishing his vision. This plan is part of a 5-week journey on the topic of Gospel X - Multiply the gospel
