Walk This WaySample
With God
A question we need to ask ourselves is this: “Are we doing this for God or are we doing this with God?”
In the former, we may be well-intentioned, seeking every opportunity to serve, going out of our way to be there for others, and saying “yes” to everything asked of us. Yet, we find ourselves feeling burnt out, not just physically but emotionally and, worst of all, spiritually, because we are doing it all in our own strength.
The difference between doing things for God and doing things with God changes everything. “With God” means with His power working in and through us to accomplish His will. Instead of saying “yes” out of obligation, we seek God’s direction before committing.
Instead of checking boxes, we cultivate a relationship with Him, first. And, what was once a solo sport now becomes a partnership.
Paul explains this clearly in Romans 8:11. In the same way God raised Jesus from the dead, we, too, are brought from death to life. Our relationship with Jesus starts through His strength alone and continues through His strength alone because the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave is now living in us. This transformation has nothing to do with our own strength but everything to do with what Jesus did for us on the cross. When we walk with Jesus, we no longer try to carry the weight of ministry, relationships, or daily life on our own. His Spirit lives in us to guide us, empower us, and ultimately give us life! A life with Jesus is meant to be lived through His strength, not our own.
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus extends the invitation to walk with Him, describing it as “restful, easy, and light.” Walking with God is not burdensome or exhausting, nor does it leave us running on empty. Instead, it is empowered, freeing, and life-giving. How can you walk more in step with Him?
Reflect & Pray
Lord, thank you for Your Spirit that gives me strength. Please help me to lean on You alone and show me the areas in my life where I rely too much on my own strength. Help me to find rest in the freedom that comes from walking with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan
Throughout time, and especially in the Bible, the word “walk” has been used as a metaphor to describe the course, cadence, and overall spiritual direction of our lives. From the Garden of Eden to the present day, part of God’s redemptive call and work is teaching His children to “walk this way,” giving direction, counsel, and guidance to our steps. One thing is clear: He cares how we live our lives and desires that we journey through this life in a way that counts.
