Decide to Thrive: Youth Edition

DAY 16 OF 42

The Purpose Decision: Overcoming Rejection

When planting a seed, it takes time, care, and patience before we see anything emerge. The process requires consistent watering, sunlight, and trust that growth is happening beneath the surface, even when we can’t see it yet. In the same way, we are called to plant seeds of faith by sharing the message of Jesus with others. However, the results of our efforts may not always be visible right away. Sometimes, we encounter rejection or indifference, and it can feel discouraging. But remember, a "no" today doesn’t mean "never;" it often just means "not yet."

God works in His own time and in His own way, softening hearts and preparing the soil for those seeds to take root. The joy of seeing someone come to Christ may be delayed, but when it happens, it is worth every prayer, every conversation, and every effort.

Our role is not to control the outcome but to faithfully plant and water the seeds, trusting God to take care of the growth. He knows the perfect timing and the right conditions for each person to respond to His call. So, keep sowing seeds of faith with love and persistence, even when the results seem distant or uncertain. Rest in the assurance that God is at work, even in the unseen moments. Be encouraged that every act of faithfulness—every word, prayer, and kind gesture—plays a part in His greater plan. Trust Him to bring forth a harvest in His perfect time.

Reflection: Have you experienced rejection in sharing your faith? How can you persevere, knowing that God’s timing is always right?
