Day 21: Rise Up, Revivalists!

“But my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly.’’

– Numbers 14:24

Some years ago, I came across a story of a couple of people who were all in for God, and it changed my life. This story is found in a pivotal moment for the people of God, who had been wandering in the desert after God had brought them out of Egypt. God asked Moses to set aside 12 leaders to go into the promised land and spy it out for 40 days. Ten spies reported back that the giants in the land were too big. But Caleb and Joshua reported that God is bigger than those giants!

May I suggest that we live in a similar moment for Christianity on college campuses in Europe? So many are saying that the giants in Europe are huge! The wave of secularization is overwhelming. We as the Church in Europe are too small.

Yet, in the midst of this daunting task, God is looking for Calebs and Joshuas who will rise up and believe that God is bigger than these giants. So many people focus on how powerful Goliath is, but God is looking for Davids who are willing to throw some strategic stones.

Many say Christianity in Europe is dead. Well, we serve a God who happens to be in the resurrection business! He has the power to revive Europe. Some say Europe is post-Christian. I believe Europe is actually pre-revival!

Caleb is described five times in Scripture as following God wholeheartedly (Numbers 14:24; Deuteronomy 1:36; Joshua 14:8, 9, 14). Friends, God is not looking for heroes. God is looking for those who will follow Him wholeheartedly—who are all in for Jesus! Do not underestimate what God can do with a heart fully given to Him

Are there any Calebs and Joshuas who can see their own college campuses through the eyes of faith? Rise up, Calebs! Rise up, Joshuas and those who follow Jesus wholeheartedly! Rise up, revivalists!

Prayer Points:

• Pray that God will raise up Calebs and Joshuas on university campuses, ready to follow Him wholeheartedly.
• Pray that a wave of personal and corporate repentance will wash over university campuses across the earth.
• Pray that God will breathe fires of revival among students throughout Europe and the world.
