Dare to Be WeakSample
Vulnerable and strong at the same time
“But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves” (2 Corinthians 4:7).
We do not have to go through a heavy training program or master special skills through hard work to receive God's power. As earthly people, we are limited and fragile. God provides for his children in this. That is liberating! We do not have to draw from our own sources of strength. Nor should we want to, because then we will fall short. As long as we are here on earth, we will experience the fragility of our lives and bodies.
Paul did not want to focus on his own fragility, but on the power of God dwelling in us (see also Day 6). If we are aware of this it will make us humble, but it is encouraging at the same time. We are not dependent on our limited strength, but Jesus lives in us with His resurrection power. As a result, others can also see what God is doing in our lives. Our weakness, setbacks, and temptations are no reasons for despair (2 Corinthians 4:8-12). Through the "cracks and holes" in our earthly vessels shines the power and light of God's love. God will never abandon the work He began in you but rather finish it. "My grace is sufficient for you," says God, and "My power is accomplished in weakness”.
Do you dare to be weak or talk about your weaknesses with others?
In what ways has the teaching of Paul helped you in these lessons?
Tip: Write a short prayer for daily use thanking God for His presence in your life and asking Him if He would give you His words of strength in the moments you need them.

About this Plan
Most people don't like to feel weak. Physical and mental strength are reassuring because they give us the feeling of being in control of our life. But unfortunately, every person faces weakness from time to time. How does that work in the life of a follower of Jesus? Paul, a believer we meet in the Bible, has something to say about that. We are going to listen to his thoughts in this reading plan.
