Worship Through Advent: A Seasonal Devotional for Your Worship MinistrySample
Worship in Love
The Christmas season is always busy. Church programming is in full swing, school and community events are wrapping up, and family obligations are mounting. Through it all, we show up each week to praise and worship the Lord with other believers. Now, I am sure this is not hard for anyone reading this, but occasionally, it can be hard to love those around you well—especially with a stressful and busy season. One important thing to remember about Jesus is that no matter the circumstance, Jesus never altered His posture of love toward others. Whether gathering with His disciples, teaching a large crowd, or silently facing an angry mob shouting “Crucify Him!”—Jesus loved perfectly. John reminds us in 1 John 4:9-10 that Jesus is God’s love revealed among us. “In this is love, not that we loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son…”This Christmas, remember that Jesus perfectly embodies God’s love to all—you and those around you. So, as you work and serve alongside those who may be difficult to love at times—or if you are the one who might be difficult to love at times—there is good news. Jesus is our gift of perfect love, and so we worship! Let every heart prepare Him room. Let Heaven and nature sing!
