A Love Worth Sharing: The Love That Never Leaves Us

When facing uncertainty (and we've done plenty of that in recent times), it's often the fear of the unknown that troubles us most. Yet whatever lies ahead, God promises to always be with us.

Paul reminds us in Romans that nothing “will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The Love of God isn't just a feeling, or words in an ancient book; God's Love is a constant, abiding reality.

This is the essence of the Incarnation: Emmanuel, God with us. Jesus became human, lived among us, died for us, and rose again, affirming that we will never be beyond the reach of God's Love.

This Truth is both a comfort and a call to action. It reassures us of our secure place in God's Heart and inspires us to share His Love with others.

It's a Truth that changes so much, and it's something we see all the time through Compassion's ministry. The message that God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to be our Friend and Savior will be at the heart of every Christmas celebration hosted by our church partners.

At one Compassion Project in northern Peru, Pastor Jaime and his team love thinking of ways they can bless their community. Before the Compassion Project opened its doors five years ago, Christmas used to pass by hardly noticed.

“This is an area of extreme poverty,” Pastor Jaime explains. “We thank Compassion for the social impact we're seeing. Families usually don't celebrate Christmas because they're trying to survive and put food on the table.”

But now, the Compassion Project invites the whole community to celebrate Jesus' Birth thanks to the generosity of supporters. “The celebration our church puts together is important because we bring awareness of the Love of Jesus to the families. Christmas is Love and Salvation. It's spiritual, and children embrace it with their hearts.”

God can use our small efforts in radical ways. This Christmas, let's remember that whatever we're facing, God will never leave us; and that when we share His Love with others, God can transform lives.

God of Love, help us to remember that by Your Holy Spirit, You are with us always, reassuring us in our doubts and fears. Fill our hearts with Your Love, so that we can share it freely and abundantly with others. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
