The Happy Days and the Ones That Aren'tSample
How connected are your emotions to your faith? When you feel great, does your faith also seem great? Or, when life becomes difficult, does your faith feel difficult, too? We all experience ups and downs in life, but your faith doesn’t have to ride that roller coaster. The two are connected, yes, but they don’t have to follow each other.
As you listen to the teachings of Jesus and apply them to your life, you build a foundation for your faith that isn’t rocked when the unexpected comes your way. Instead of your emotions determining your faith, following Jesus allows our faith to stay steady amid our emotions. That’s the blueprint for growing up physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Today, finish memorizing this verse by sharing it with a trusted adult. Talk to a parent, mentor, counselor, or Small Group Leader about what Jesus’ words here mean for your life and your emotions today.
