As we conclude this Bible plan, I pray that you have some practical and spiritual guidance on how to build deeper intimacy with God. As we become more like Christ, we must create the intimacy necessary for deeper fellowship with Him. This requires us to be vulnerable, seek Him wholeheartedly, and commit to engaging the spiritual disciplines.

I finally encourage you to embrace even the quiet moments with God as you do these things. As you take the time to study… pause, pray, and wait for God to speak to you. Don’t be in such a rush to hear from God because you think that this pursuit of intimacy will yield instant results. Maybe it will, but be willing to embrace the silence.

I can testify that there are many times when I just sit in silence and think about God when random scriptures come to my head that lead me to exactly what I need or what someone else that I speak with needs. Other times, I drive without the radio, thinking about the Lord, and an idea or solution to a problem comes. Therefore, I encourage you to embrace that the stillness is building deeper intimacy with God.

Additionally, deeper intimacy is developed through consistency. Scripture shows that Jesus and others had a custom of praying and spending time with the Father alone. Gleaning from their example, we must be willing to spend that time with God for ourselves. As you build the faith muscle of spending that time with God in different ways, it will be evident the strength of your relationship with God has grown.

Intimacy requires spending time with God...and that requires time. Completing this plan may not result in immediate results of increased intimacy but may serve as the catalyst for getting there. May this plan encourage you to take the next step in your journey, whatever that looks like. God has already invited us to draw nearer to Him. When we seek Him, we will find Him.
