In the book of Daniel, we find a powerful lesson in the art of perseverance in prayer. Scripture reveals that Daniel’s earnest prayers ascended to the heavens, reaching the ears of God Himself. For twenty-one days, a heavenly battle raged, with a demonic spirit hindering the delivery of Daniel’s petition. However, divine reinforcements arrived in the form of Michael the archangel, who triumphed over the opposing forces, ensuring the delivery of Daniel’s answer.

This narrative teaches us a timeless truth: God’s timing is not always aligned with our expectations. In moments of apparent silence from above, it’s easy to misconstrue delays as divine disinterest. Yet, within these apparent setbacks, unseen battles may be unfolding, and spiritual forces may be at play. You might find yourself pouring out prayers for the salvation of a loved one or for healing. In these seasons of anticipation, resist the pull of discouragement. Instead, hold onto Christ’s exhortation to persist, to seek, to knock. Behind the curtain of delay, God orchestrates His sovereign will, poised to unveil His answer in His appointed time. So, when prayers linger, let faith endure.
