7 Prominent Themes of the Psalmists in 7 DaysSample
Day 7 - Ps Caleb Vautier
Wisdom
Psalm 1 is such a great reflection of the ever-present importance of wisdom in our lives. In this Psalm, we are reminded of the blessings that come from walking in the ways of the Lord and seeking His wisdom above all else.
Just as a tree planted by streams of water flourishes and bears fruit, so will we thrive when we delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night. This is a call to immerse ourselves in the wisdom and guidance found in God's word, allowing it to shape our thoughts, actions, and ultimately, our lives.
Wisdom is so much more than just knowledge; it is the discernment to choose what is right and good in the eyes of the Lord. It is the ability to see beyond the present moment and align our lives with God's will. As we seek wisdom from above, we are equipped to navigate life's challenges with grace and integrity. For me, I always like to seek wisdom from those closest to me that I trust. Proverbs 12:15 says "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice."
Would we be mindful of the company we keep, for as the Psalmist warns, the counsel of the wicked leads to destruction. Surround yourself with those who walk in wisdom and encourage you to grow in your faith. May we be rooted in God's truth, standing firm in the face of adversity and placing ourselves in wise positions so we do not fall.
As we read the words of Psalm 1, let’s be motivated and inspired to prioritise wisdom in our daily lives, seeking God's guidance in all that we do.
Let us strive to be like the tree planted by streams of water, bearing fruit in season and trusting in the promises of our Heavenly Father..
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I come before You in reverence and humility, seeking Your wisdom to guide me.
Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon me to bring me supernatural discernment and understanding to pursue righteousness and wisdom in all that I do. Would Your spirit shine through me, in my words, my actions, and my decisions.
I desire to remain faithful, integrous, holy and fixed on Your word, Your will and Your ways!
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
