Biblical Success - Running Our Race - Our Ultimate Test

DAY 4 OF 5

Do you ever wonder why, in the New Testament, the Holy Spirit comes to live “in” us and not just around us as He did in the Old Testament for the most part? Why? Does He just need a place to hang out? Is He just a passive passenger? Just an “it,” as He is called in some churches? Why does Jesus pray in His last recorded prayer in John 17 that we “should be one as” (or in the same way) He and the Father are one?

Jesus promised that we “would receive power when The Holy Spirit came and that power would lead us to be His witnesses from Jerusalem to the rest of the world.” (Acts 1:4-8). We know that He did come shortly after that on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4), and then throughout the New Testament, His activity leavens the extension of the gospel such as that one point the Christ-followers were called “These who have turned the world upside down” (Acts 17:6).

In a very real way, we stand upon their shoulders and those of the reformers and those who carried the gospel to the deepest jungles and the highest mountains of the world.

We have NOT been born and born again to be spectators and consumers of packaged religion simply paying specially trained “professionals” to do all the work. Those professionals are called to“equip for the work of ministry.” (Ephesians 4:11,12) God has a plan for EVERY believer’s life to participate in a special way and to share in His Kingdom's work. (Ephesians 2:10)

Every Christ follower has a role to play. The Holy Spirit is our coach, trainer, and gyroscopic guide, with His GPS centered on God’s will and the good works that God has planned for us.

There are NO insignificant believers and NO insignificant “good works!” That being the case, what do you think Jesus will be MOST interested in during our visit with Him at the end of "the race set before us? (Hebrews 12:1) Works are actions; what we do and what we do comes out of how we think. Read the Word and share your thoughts.

About this Plan

Biblical Success - Running Our Race - Our Ultimate Test

This study will connect some Biblical dots concerning a significant event that is a promised part of the continuum of our lives as Christ followers. It is certain and promised to every believer but is under-taught and generally poorly understood in our contemporary culture. The event is the judgment of the believer's works at The Judgement Seat of Christ or The Bema.
