No One Like the FatherSample

No One Like the Father

DAY 1 OF 5

A multitude of emotions can be invoked when you consider the role of a father. Some of you had positive experiences with your father and see him as a role model, protector, and provider. He poured into you and shaped you into who you are today. He showed you how to fix a flat tire, drive a car, and fix little things around the house. You know he wasn’t perfect, but you are grateful that God chose him as your earthly father.

For many others, this is not the case. Perhaps you grew up without your father, or the father who raised you was abusive. You do not know what it is like to have a man in your life who cares about you or teaches you to do different things. Unfortunately, 2023 U.S. Census research suggests that about 17.8 million children (about 1 in 4) do not have their biological father, bonus, or adoptive father at home. The absence or mistreatment from our earthly father can adversely affect our relationship with our heavenly father.

For this Bible plan, while I pray that the first group will also be able to benefit from the devotional, I want to focus on the second group of individuals who may have had a less-than-pleasant experience with your father. As we work through the next few days, I hope to bolster your belief in the sovereignty of your heavenly Father. No matter what your experience has been with your father or father figures, the vital thing to remember is that we have a heavenly father who uniquely cares for us, sees us, and wants the best for us. There is no one like our heavenly father.

Day 2

About this Plan

No One Like the Father

Our experiences with our earthly father often influence how we relate to our heavenly Father. Sadly, not everyone has had positive experiences with their earthly father, which can adversely impact our relationship with our heavenly Father. This Bible plan offers guidance and encouragement to those who have had less-than-ideal situations with their earthly father, helping them understand that there is no one like our heavenly Father.
