He Speaks.

I have a two-part speech disfluency. One is the disfluency that’s a part of having Cerebral Palsy. The other is stuttering. Later I discovered it was linked to the trauma of growing up with an abusive biological father. As I’ve let the blood of Jesus heal me of past wounds, He also has healed me of a constant stutter. I love to share Jesus. For a long time, I had a fear of my speech impediment. But check out how God responds to Moses about His speech disfluency. The LORD said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

Also, I feared a lack of knowing what to say. Then I discovered these impacting words of Jesus about the Holy Spirit’s role.“For it is not you who are speaking, but it is the Spirit of your Father who is speaking in you” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭20‬).‬‬ Now, I do not worry about how I sound like because it’s not me talking but the Holy Spirit! As you share Jesus with the lost, know the Holy Spirit speaks through you exactly what a person needs to hear to experience the love of Jesus!
