Our Protective Father

Abba is committed to protecting the image of Christ in us and our identity in Him. God is committed to protecting our identity from the ongoing internal spiritual attacks of Satan against us. These spiritual attacks seek to steal our agreement with our identity and our confidence in God.

One area of our confidence that comes under great attack is our belief in Abba’s protection of us. We face internal attacks that cause us to ask questions such as, “Will Abba protect me when I need protection?”

Satan never misses the chance to present us with this question to drive distrust against God in our hearts. Satan likes to push us to ask this question particularly in times when we are on the brink of taking big risks for God. Our answer to this question reveals what we believe about Jesus and what we believe He accomplished on the cross.

In Jesus’s death and resurrection He gained victory for us. Jesus became our champion over sin and death as well as every other struggle we face, both natural and spiritual. Jesus guarantees Abba’s protection for us so we can have this victory in every battle. This victory is not only sometimes or over some things. Scripture says Jesus’s victory is always available for every battle we ever face.
