Christ for Everyone - a Three-Day Reading Plan by Chris EkissSample
Day 2 - Christ For Me
Do you remember the first time you heard about Jesus? What happened? How did it make you feel? Growing up in the South, I had heard people talk about Jesus almost all my life. It wasn’t until I became an adult and sat down and actually read the stories that my life was transformed. Though I must admit, I couldn’t comprehend the unrelenting Love of Christ and the ways He showed it. I had to keep reading the stories over and over again, building faith and understanding that led me to a place of surrender to the Creator of my life. These were some of the things that became Truth in my life.
Jesus, God in the flesh, loves me and wants to have a relationship with me.
- He wants to speak to me(My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. - John 10:27).
- He wants to guide me(“The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength.” - Isaiah 58:11)
- He wants to protect and strengthen me (But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one - 2 Thessalonians 3:3)
- He wants to provide for me(And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. - 2 Corinthians 9:8).
- He grieves with me(God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. - Matthew 5:4),
- He celebrates with me(For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” - Zephaniah 3:17)
- He is with me on the mountain and in the valley(I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. - Psalm 16:8)
The same is true for you. Christ loves you. He craves a deep and personal relationship with you. Everything He has accomplished and done was for you. The truth of that Love is so hard for our human mind to comprehend, but take time today to reflect on that Truth. Don’t listen to the lies of the enemies. You are a beloved son and daughter of the Most High God and He cherishes you and loves you very, very much.
God, thank You for being my Father, my Friend, and my Savior. Let every breath that I have praise and worship You, for You are worthy of all our praise. You are for me, You are with me, and You love me. Thank You for making me a Child of the Most High King.
Amen.
Reflection:
Listen to the song “Christ For Everyone” and reflect on these questions:
Do you remember the first time you heard the story of Jesus? If so, how did it make you feel? Who shared it with you?
Who could you share this story with today to show God’s Faithfulness and Love in your life?
