In the Garden With Jesus - a Lent Journey for TeensSample

Place plays an important role in the forming of our habits. Everything we do, we do in a specific place. The experience of a habit is not only on the inside but also in an exterior place. Jesus had certain places that were important to Him – the mountains, the ocean, the wilderness. Jesus invited His disciples to go with Him to certain places. But He also invited them to find their own places to which to retreat.

To find a space is super important. To visit that place often is even more important. Wherever Jesus was, He found a space to retreat to at least once a day.

If you can create and cultivate spaces where you meet with God, in time, you will experience His strength and presence. Start to live this way. It changes you and the atmosphere you live in.

Exercise:

Visit your space as if it is the first time you’ve ever gone there. See if there is something you want to add or take away from this space.
