In the Garden With Jesus - a Lent Journey for TeensSample
Become aware of Him
To be aware doesn’t mean that you are constantly focused and thinking about something specific. That is not an open awareness, but a focused, and thus narrow awareness. If you are home, for example, and your parents or dogs aren’t there, the place feels different. You’re not constantly thinking about the fact that you’re alone, but you’re constantly aware of it, nonetheless.
Peter says:
“Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God.” (1Peter 1:18 MSG)
I am invited to live with a deep consciousness of Him. Everywhere and all the time… being aware of Him. This awareness is established over time – as we learn how to talk with God regularly.
Exercise:
Ask yourself what you can leave or start doing that will help you become more aware of God daily and write it down.
Prayer:
God, I ask for a deep awareness of Your love for me and Your work in me.

About this Plan
You are invited to a Lent journey where we will spend 40 days with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane - the place where He was extremely vulnerable and open to the Father’s will. Here, He shows us a glimpse of His courage to wrestle with His humanity.
