Have you ever been a part of a race? Maybe you were the one running yourself or maybe you were simply cheering others along on the sidelines. Either way, if you’ve observed or participated in the effort it takes to complete a race, you know how challenging it can be to press on and keep going. The only way any runner gets closer to finishing the race they’re running? They decide from the get-go to keep moving forward. No matter how tired, no matter what obstacle, no matter how much they want to give in and give up, they press on to keep running.

Well, the same is true when it comes to our faith. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we’re focused on the finish line. We’re running toward what God has called us to. We’re running the race God has set before us. With each step we take to keep moving forward, we’re developing the perseverance we need to keep going and growing in life, no matter what we face. Today, take a moment to get outside and go for a run or take a walk. As you take each step forward, think about the way you can move forward in your life with your eyes on Jesus. Think about the way you can press on and step closer to what God has called you to in life.
