DAY 5 OF 5

Day 5: Let Us Worship

"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker." (Psalm 95:6)

"Out of all the things I am, everything I hope to be

If you look into my heart, there's a worshiper in me."

I love these lyrics from Marvin Sapp's song "Worshipper In Me." It's a beautiful reminder that despite the fog of worry, there is a heart filled with worship within each of us.

Remember our scripture from day one when Jesus asked, "which of you, by worrying, can add a single hour to your life?" Can you guess what the answer is?

You guessed it. No one.

Instead, Jesus instructs us to "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).

Seek.

Desire.

Aim after.

The kingdom of God. Why? Because everything we need is found in Him, and that my friend is most certainly deserving of our worship! A worshiper is a person who shows reverence and adoration for someone. We can demonstrate our reverence and admiration for our Lord by choosing not to be distracted by worries that detract from our worship. By keeping our hearts and minds fixed on Him (Isaiah 26:3), we can find peace and fulfillment in all aspects of our lives.

Let's take a look at Luke 10:41-42:

"Martha," the Lord replied, "you are worried and upset about many things. But only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, and it will not be taken away from her."

Friend, let us follow Mary's example and choose the good portion. Sitting at the feet of Jesus.

May our worries lead us to worship.

Pause. Pray. Reflect.

In his New Testament commentary, author Warren Wiersbe states, "3 words point the way to victory over worry." (1) Faith - trusting God to meet our needs. (2) Father - knowing He cares for us. (3) First - putting God's will first in our lives so that He might be glorified. Which of these 3 resonate with you the most? Take time to worship the Lord and express gratitude for His faithfulness in your life, believing He will help you overcome worry!
