Finding Hope When Church Feels HardSample

Church can get messy. Whether we’re talking about the institution of the church (the buildings filled with people on a Sunday morning) or The Church (the name given by God to the global body of believers) there is one major thing they have in common: people.
The Church (both the institution and the body of believers) is made up of people. And the one thing people all have in common is that we make mistakes. This doesn’t justify behavior, but it is the reality of the human condition. We are a rag-tag group of people who have been saved by God. And the only thing that makes our fallibility okay is Jesus.
“…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23
We all need Jesus.
Period.
Amen.
That means the person who offended you needs Jesus. The pastor needs Jesus. The person in the row in front of you needs Jesus. The worship singer needs Jesus. And YOU need Jesus. We all need Jesus. Even within the church.
