The role of envisioning and connecting.

Are you developing a sports strategy in your neighbourhood that other neighbourhoods, cities or countries could use?

Time and again I’ve witnessed the Lord multiply one neighbourhood sports model to many neighbourhoods with similar contexts.

One sport and play strategy began in one part of a city before expanding to other neighbourhoods and cities in the country. Through modern information sharing, the strategy rapidly expanded to almost every country. Millions were involved in just a few years!

Another sports strategy served youth in a small part of one major city. The pioneering leader of the model slowly expanded the strategy to more parts of the nation. The sport was popular in a nearby country so he traveled there to envision local leaders. After several years, the pioneer began to travel to different countries where the sport was popular to envision and train leaders to reach new countries. The pioneer and those who were part of the growing movement then formed a network that provided encouragement and training to keep expanding the work of outreach and discipleship for youth and elite athletes of the sport.

In another example, a team serving global opportunities agreed on a helpful way for countries to expand their sports development and networking. The Lord had placed a global sports dream on the heart of a businessman. With his family’s encouragement, he committed to spending extensive time visiting groups of countries and training them to work together to rapidly expand their sport movements.

There are various ways a helpful sports model can be expanded from one neighbourhood to many. If your model is helpful to others, pray for wisdom on how to give it away. Then watch what God can do!
