The Promise of ChristmasSample

Have you ever hoped for something to go one way only for it to turn out completely different? Maybe it was the hope of a promotion at work that you didn’t get, the hope of a relationship to work out that didn’t, or the hope of a healing that hasn’t come? When life doesn’t go as planned (and honestly, it rarely does), we have a choice. We can sit disappointed, defeated, and discouraged by the failure of our plans, or we can look forward with hope and faith that God still has a plan for our lives. Christmas reminds us that we can always choose the latter! God showed us thousands of years ago that He has a plan for us. Jesus is the fulfillment of that plan, and it’s a plan that’s still being carried out today. When we’re tempted to believe life will never turn out as we hope it will, Christmas gives us hope that there’s more to the story and the plan than we can see. Just as the prophet Jeremiah said, God has a plan for our lives, and that is something we can always trust in. Take time today to pray that God will remind you in this holiday season that you can trust and hope in His plan for your life today.
