Immeasurable Love

DAY 4 OF 4

Sacrificial Love

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

The sacrificial love of God shows us God's willingness to make a major sacrifice for the salvation of the world through the life and death of his son, Jesus Christ. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is a prime example of God's love. God sent his one and only son to take on the sin, inequities, and transgressions of humanity in exchange for a path to salvation. Jesus bore the pain, punishment and suffering that we sinners deserved as an atonement of love. Because of the act made on the cross, it has given us redemption, reconciliation with God, and an opportunity to receive forgiveness and eternal life.

When Jesus was just twelve years old, he knew that he "must be about his Father's business." According to Luke 19:10, Jesus' mission on earth was to fulfill God's plan of saving the lost. Throughout these past days, we've dived deep into the different aspects and nature of God's love. But I want you to conclude this devotion by remembering the sacrificial love of God that has been extended to you and I. The impact of God's sacrificial love is for eternity. This love provides us with the gift of salvation and eternal life with Christ to those who surrender and give their life to him.

Are you someone who doesn't know God, or your relationship with God is on and off? Are you tired of living a life of sin and hopelessness? Has this devotional and the many examples of God's love demonstrated in the Bible stirred up a desire in you to experience His great love and to have a personal and intimate relationship with Him? If your answer is yes, Romans 10:9-10 gives us a simple instruction on how to receive God into our lives as our Lord and savior and to be saved. The word of God says, If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. All it takes is a simple prayer. If you seek a fresh start and a new life with Christ, pray this prayer in faith:

Dear Heavenly Farther,

I come to you as a sinner, asking for forgiveness of my sins. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with my heart that God raised him from the dead for my justification. I turn away from my sinful ways and repent from my sins. I invite you into my life to be my Lord and personal savior. From this day forward, I live to serve you. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

If you prayed this prayer in faith and accepted Christ into your life. I want to welcome you into God's family! The heavens rejoice for this life-changing decision you have made today. I pray that as you embark on this new and redefined journey with Christ; you experience the unchanging, immeasurable, and ever-present love of God.
