Man of FireSample
Day 5: The Fire Of Protection
Men, in addition to trials you will also face opposition from other people.
Someone or something will come against the work you are doing for God. But God does not leave us alone. He doesn’t leave us helpless. He protects us and empowers us to accomplish the work that He planned for us.
This is where we draw our strength and boldness from! We are not alone. We come in the name of the almighty God!
There’s a great example in the book of 2 Kings. The prophet Elijah was given a message to give to Israel’s king Ahaziah. King Ahaziah had gotten hurt and he sought out false gods to determine if he would get better. Elijah sent word to the king asking why he sought false gods, as if God didn’t exist. He also told him he would not recover from his injury. The king was upset and he sent 51 men to arrest Elijah. Elijah called down fire from heaven that consumed the men trying to arrest him. The king sent another group and they suffered the same fate. When the king sent a 3rd group they wised up and pleaded for mercy. God protected Elijah so he could accomplish what He had created him to do.
God may not show up in such an awesome and obvious way all the time, but He will show up. Just like Elijah we need to be prepared to do things that aren’t popular or pleasant. As long as it comes from the Lord, that is what matters.
To be a man of fire you cannot be a man of fear. You can feel fear absolutely. But ultimately you move your feet based on faith, knowing that God has your back when you’re about accomplishing His business. A man of fire rejects passivity and takes risks when God is leading.
