The Prodigal's ReturnSample
Introduction
Jeremiah 29:11 [NIV] “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”Know this moment you are reading this devotion that God has wonderful plans for you. If we are honest, every one of us finds ourselves in a place where we are far from God’s plans for us. It is in those moments, we need God most and can call upon Him and ask Him for help. Each of us can easily call upon Him and say, “God, I’ve made a mess of my life and I need You. Please forgive me. God, I believe in your power to turn my life around, so I give it to You. I want the plans You have for me.”We hope these devotions lead you to hear God’s voice and will for your life.
Let me introduce our family included in writing these devotions as it may help give some perspective. Randy and Kim Harmon have two precious grown daughters, Taylor Harmon, and Bailey Hartman. Everyone has a story with both great experiences and tragedies. We believe our story to be great and very normal until January 2010. Our extended maternal family has been very close over the years. Very unexpectedly in January 2010, a family member was murdered by another. At the very least, this tragedy played a part in our lives spiraling out of our control. After years of healing, we believe we have found ways to bring ourselves back to the foot of the cross and ask God to keep us in His plans for prosperity, safety, hope, and a future.
