So You Think You're Not Good Enough?

DAY 5 OF 12

You are the worst sinner ever

There are times when the people of God fall prey to judgment, either from others or in their own minds. They believe that they are the worst sinner who ever lived, then wallow in guilt and condemnation.

It’s bad enough when others say this about you, but even worse when you say it about yourself.

What is the truth of this matter?

Let me ask this: are you greater than God? I would hope you answer that question by saying, “No.” So, let’s see what God has to say about your sins.

God sent Jesus into the world for the express purpose of taking your sins away. Read that again. He didn’t just forgive your sins, Jesus took them away, never to be seen again.

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

Not only did God take sin away, but God has forgotten all of your sins as well.

“For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more." (Hebrews 8:12)

Where are all of your sins right now? God said that He would cast them into the depths of the sea where they can never be seen again (Micah 7:18-19). He has also said that He has removed your sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalms 103:10-14). God has taken away all of your sins…forever.

When you think you are the worst sinner ever, remember that your sins are gone, and there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. If God does not condemn you as a sinner, or “The worst sinner ever,” as we might judge ourselves, then who are we to say otherwise?

There is only one unpardonable sin, which is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. A lot of Christians think they have done that too, but when asked just exactly what this blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is, they don’t even know. It is not a sin that can be done accidentally. To blaspheme the Holy Spirit requires a person to deliberately carry out such an act, and no Christian I have ever met has ever done such a thing.

The fact is, if you are in Christ Jesus, you’re not the worst sinner ever because Christ has taken away your sin.

Call to Action:

Whenever you think you are the worst sinner ever, remember that Jesus took your sins, and God forgave, removed, and forgot them. He has said you are freed from sin forever, so again, I ask, are you greater than God?

Day 4Day 6

About this Plan

So You Think You're Not Good Enough?

Have you ever thought, “I’m not good enough?” What about any of these other thoughts? I’m not worthy of being a Christian. Other people are better Christians than I am. I’m the worst sinner ever. God could never forgive what I have done. God isn’t listening to my prayers. These are attacks of the devil. This plan will show how to defeat them all and more.
