“You Matter to God”
Jesus died for your sins. You should know this, for the Bible is full of the wonderful word “whosoever.”
If Jesus so loved the world that he died (John 3:16). Do you live in this world, or somewhere else? If you live in the world, he died for you.
God so loved you that he gave his Son for you. When Christ suffered on the Cross, he suffered for you, just as though it was only for you. It is the one lost sheep the shepherd goes after. The one is significant.
Napoleon was once asked, “Did you lose anyone important in the battle?” “Oh, no,” he replied, “a few score thousand soldiers died, but no one of importance.” I wonder what the mothers thought. God is not like that. God is more like the librarian who knows every book in the library. We all matter to God. It doesn’t matter who you are.
Do you remember what Christ said through the angel to the women at his tomb? “Go tell his disciples and Peter. ...” (Mark 16:7 NIV). He remembered Peter.
We are all constantly bombarded with reasons why we can’t possibly matter to God. I invite you to tell someone today how much they matter to God. By doing that, you’ll bless youself also: what better way of reminding yourself just how significant you are to God? – Des Ford
