Does this sound familiar to you: I have bought something and only to realize that when I got home, I already owned something very similar? When I spent money completely unnecessarily I am frustrated. I was once again so busy thinking of my needs that I did not realize that I did not need it.

What really makes us happy? What fills the tank of my soul? Where does my thirst get quenched?

One of the greatest paradoxes of God’s kingdom is precisely that we find true life when things are not about us. When we give ourselves away, we become the recipient. When we give we receive. When we think about others instead of ourselves is when we are taken care of.

In the Bible we read that we win life when we stand up for others, care for the poor and sick, fight for rights and justice, and use our lives to share the gospel. We find true fulfilment by giving.

Actionstep:

Do something good to a person in your surrounding! Make a nice present for somebody. Give away something you would also enjoy having. And rejoice with the person you gave it to.
