Do you know these thoughts when you finally bring something to an end? For example, after a hard day at work, a jog that was too long or a garden project you have postponed for too long – now a big glass of cool barley juice or fresh peppermint tea. Ahhh.

Now imagine that instead of receiving your favorite drink served cool, you were given a cheap lukewarm version. Pfui!

Let’s be honest. How often has the thing you were so looking forward to end up somewhat strange or left even a bad taste? The goal was noble, you were successful, but despite this, you do not feel more fulfilled.

Do you know why this is the case? From the first to the last page, the Bible tells us that only God can quench our deepest thirst. Could it be that your current pursuit of noble objectives is merely a mere longing for God?

The writer of Psalm 42 formulated this wonderfully: “I am as thirsty as a deer for my God.” The good news for today: You don’t have to wait a second longer before you can meet God. He is here for you now.

Actionstep:

Take some time to speak to God now. Simply tell him what you are longing for with all your heart. Maybe in addition he will show you what he has waiting for you.
