21 Days to Life-Changing ConfidenceSample
Have you ever seen people walking outside when it’s raining? I know that I typically run when I’m caught in the rain. I’m grabbing whatever I can—my purse, jacket, or hands—to cover my hair. I’m not a fan of rainy weather, so when it’s storming outside, I usually want it to stop. While I’d much prefer sunny, breezy spring weather, the truth is that I can’t control the rain.
If we can’t stop the storm yet still need to walk through it, what can we do? Open up an umbrella. What’s the function of an umbrella? An umbrella doesn’t stop the storm. It doesn’t change the circumstances. But it changes us in the middle of the circumstances. When we’re covered, we can walk through the rain and still remain dry.
The storms of life escape no one. However, when faced with the resistance that comes with following God’s call, we’re covered. During the rainy seasons, God opens up an umbrella of grace and mercy over us. Walking with God doesn’t guarantee that all things will be good, but that God will be good to us in all things. We will have to weather the storm, but we won’t ever have to do it without God. The storms won’t affect us because God is there. He is our safety. Our shelter. Our shade. Our refuge. Our umbrella.
Even when God calls you to face circumstances you wish were different, you can be confident even when you can't stop the storm. God's got you covered.
The LORD Himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. PSALM 121:5-6
DECLARATION:
I am covered by God. There is nothing that I will face that has the power to separate me from the hand of God. I am confident that no matter what I face, God is watching over me.
