Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 5Sample
Today we’re spending time in Acts 3.
In Acts 2, we end with a picture of a Spirit-filled early church and we see how they did life together and grew in their faith.
In chapters 3 to 5, Luke draws a parallel between two temples – the physical temple from the old covenant where God was confined to a space, and the new temple, the followers of Christ, because the Spirit lives within them in the new covenant.
The fact that we are now empowered by the Holy Spirit enables us to do great things like healing people. Peter stepped out in faith, empowered by the Spirit, and healed the lame man. He gave him the ultimate gift – he shared Christ with him, which is far greater than any material possessions that we can share.
Do you have faith that the Spirit will work through you?
How will you trust him today to work through you?
