The Divinity of Jesus

Acceptance of Jesus as Christ is foundational to our faith. In Colossians 1, we see him declared as the Image of God, and He is placed in His rightful spot above all creation. While many parts of the Bible reinforce these truths, these verses together are arguably Scripture’s highest statement of His divinity.

In Islam, Jesus (Isa) is demoted to being “one of the prophets,” leveled with Moses, Abraham, and Elijah. They reject the idea of immaculate conception, concluding that Jesus couldn’t possibly be the Son of God. His ministry and miracles are explained as Him being merely a vessel of God’s power. This diminished view of Jesus inhibits accepting His shed blood as atonement for our sins.

Prayer

God, I pray today for a revelation of the divinity of Jesus among Muslims. Tear the blinders of their religion from their eyes and uncover the lies they’ve believed about Jesus. Break in with the truth that He is fully God and fully man. I pray that many would have a hunger to know Jesus Christ and be given the boldness to seek Him out.
