Daily Bible Reading – February 2023, "God’s Saving Word: Love"නියැදිය

February 15
Introduction
In today’s reading, “world” pertains to the realm of evil which is temporary, whereas eternal life is promised to those who do the will of God. The “enemies of Christ” are described, and the reading concludes with the admonition to “obey the Spirit’s teaching” and “remain in union with Christ.”
Scripture Reading
1 John 2:7-29
Today’s Key Verse:1 John 2:29
You know that Christ is righteous; you should know, then, that everyone who does what is right is God’s child.
Reflect
Read verses 9-11. How is living in the light contrasted with living in the dark? In verses 12-14, Christians of various maturity levels are being addressed. What are they being told? According to verses 18-23, who are the “enemies of Christ,” and how are they described? What is your understanding of the “truth” as cited in verses 20 and 21?
Pray
Lord Jesus, help me follow your teachings each day and hold fast to your truth. I want to live in union with you. Thank you for your promise of eternal life and for the assurance that I am God’s child. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
1 John 3:1-24: All who are loved by God are called God’s children.
