Equipped to Stand

DAY 6 OF 6

Today, we will embark on a subject that few people will touch because it's controversial. Healing. Why is healing controversial? It's because so many have prayed and wished and hoped to lose the battle. It's exhausting. "Why didn't the miracle happen? It's all up to God, not us!" But that's not true. Praying is not our only option. Believing is another. We need to believe in God. We are equipped already to believe in him for everything we need for this life.

Romans 10:17 says faith comes from hearing the word. Isaiah 53:4 says, "Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted." Jesus' body, by the stripes on his back, bore all of our sicknesses. Be blown away by seeing in the word of God and let Jesus take sicknesses in his body. You wouldn't want to live with the illness Jesus already paid for!

We have to have zero tolerance for sickness in our homes. You will not let one speck in when you are not tolerating something. John 10:10, "The thief came to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to bring life and life to the full." Do not tolerate the thief. If you are unaware, you will think that the sickness led you to know God more. However, we need to stay on the side of life and life abundant!

God heals because he loves you, and he wants to. Believe, and radical miracles will begin to prevail. Do not fear; believe.

God is in the miracle business. However, even when we do not see our miracle come to pass, our job is to trust Him with the outcome. It's hard because we do not understand. We will be tempted to conjure up a reason but resist the urge to do so and leave the outcome a question mark. Leaning on our understanding can lead us to our own theology, where we lose the true nature of God, which he is the healer! His character never changes, even when we do not see him. Proverbs 3:5-6 reads, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths" (ESV). When we can't see or understand, we choose to trust and believe in the goodness of our Savior and know that God is always good.

Be encouraged today to believe in God regardless of circumstance, experiences, or loss. There is more God wants to do through you today. The podcast Equipped to Stand inspired this reading plan. Follow the link to start listening and receiving encouragement https://linktr.ee/equippedtostand.
