TRUST—THE TIE THAT BINDS

One of the beautiful things about children is the amount of automatic trust they have that they’ll be cared for and loved. But by the time they become adults, the bond of trust in others has been broken enough times that it doesn’t come so easily. Instead of being automatic, trust must be proven and earned—sometimes over and over again. This cycle often creates a challenge within marriage. Trust is one of the most vital cords that ties and binds two people together. Without it, doubt creeps in and insecurity brews. With it, security becomes a pillar of strength needed for a sound, thriving relationship. And when a husband and wife trust together in God—who is completely trustworthy—they have a stalwart chance at success.

Dear Lord, I want to trust You in all things—in my life and in my marriage. I entrust the two of us as husband and wife to You—for safety, provision, well‑being, and love. Show me any ways I fall short so I can work on correcting them to bring reassurance and strength to my marriage. Help me not to do anything that will break the trust my husband has in me. I also pray that his trust in You will deepen. I pray that he sees the evidence of Your presence in his life to the point where he can completely rest in knowing You’re in control of every detail. Help us to communicate honestly with each other about any areas of insecurity; then help us work together in ways that bring healing and encouragement. Remove any misunderstandings and replace them with Your truth. Help us to stay focused on trusting You together so that our love can flourish and stay strong.IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN.
