How to Know if They Are the OneSample
You may be thinking you want to find the right person, but have you ever thought that God wants to prepare you to be the right person first?
Consider this, if you are the wrong person and find the right person, the relationship will be difficult. For example, if you have a bad character, and find someone with great character, it will be hard for the other person to get along with you.
The Bible has very little to say on who you should date or marry. However, Scripture has so much to say about who you should be as a Christian. Think about the areas you look at when wanting to find the right person, are those areas in your life in order? If you want somebody who loves God, the best way to find that person is to be someone who loves God. Then, you will not settle for someone who does not love God. It is the same in every other area of your life. Use your single years to prepare yourself to be the right person for someone, both spiritually and in the mundane areas of life.
Other things to keep in mind when trying to decide if they're for you is to question and evaluate whether their actions and words match.
Character flaw is a big red flag. If you notice a pattern in the person’s life that they do not keep their promises and break their commitments, then you are potentially in a relationship with someone who is immature.
Another thing that can be a sign that maybe they aren't for you is when they have recently become single.
It is difficult and heartbreaking when a relationship ends. If you, (or the other person) recently ended a relationship, do not be quick to start a new relationship. This is important because you want to be in a relationship where you are still obsessing and thinking about your ex. In order to prevent that, you'll have to take the proper time to heal. I suggest waiting 6 months; that is enough time for repentance, healing, and even deliverance (if necessary) to take place.
Let's Pray:
God, mold me into someone who lives in obedience to Your Word. I want to live a life that pleases You without worrying about what others may say. Help me in this process, and make me the person You created me to be.
