The Jesus Bible Reading PlanSample
LET ALL PEOPLES PRAISE YOU
The psalmist desired the blessings of God so that he could bring fame to God among the nations. The hope was that all people would see the benefits of following the Lord. From the beginning, God’s plan was expansive, involving all the peoples of the earth (Ge 12:3). The evangelistic perspective of this psalm points toward the New Testament focus on sharing the gospel.
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus gave a clear mission to the disciples. They were to make new disciples of people from all nations — teaching and baptizing in his name (Mt 28:18 – 20). The primary way of making disciples is speaking the good news of the gospel — spelling out God’s grace, Christ’s sacrifice, the defeat of sin and the hope of eternal life.
When people experience life change through Jesus, he transforms them so that they bring light to the world. Satisfaction in Jesus turns into a living announcement about the sufficiency of Jesus. Christians shine their joyous light in the world — all for the glory of God (Mt 5:14 – 16).
Jesus, help me to articulate your truths to those who want to hear. I want others to understand the sufficiency of faith in you. Amen.
