Exercise your authority
The E in P.R.A.Y.E.R. stands for exercise. When we make prayer a priority in our lives, we have an opportunity to exercise our authority as believers. As children of God, we are not subject to what the world is participating in. We operate with Kingdom principles. When things do not align with scripture, we can use our words and exercise our authority.
When we pray to God, we can speak His words back to Him. The Bible says to put God in remembrance of His Word. God does not forget what He has spoken; it is an opportunity for us to remember and build our faith. The Bible says to fight the good fight of faith. We fight with the Word.
As you pray, remember we do not fight against people but the enemy. While it is a fight, it is a fight we win. God has equipped us. Prayer is essential because exercising your authority as a believer is essential.
Apply:
Today, make the quality decision that you will spend time in prayer and declare God's Word over your life. Regardless of the natural circumstances, only speak what God says about it and exercise your authority.
Pray:
Dear God, I choose to exercise and operate in my God-given authority today. Thank you for giving me creative power; I can use my words to create. Put a guard over my mouth. I do not want to delay your best for me because I did not exercise my authority. In Jesus' name, amen.
Reflect:
1. What is a verse that you are declaring over your life?
2. How are you exercising your authority?
