Meanwhile: Meeting God in the WaitSample

The meanwhiles in life are inevitable. We will all experience a meanwhile, regardless of our gender, our commitment to Christ, our socioeconomic level, or our education. However, what we can determine is what we do during the meanwhiles. The action you take during your meanwhile matters very much. Just ask Joseph. I believe this is a secret to life – no matter what your talent, exercise extreme caution and do not take credit for it. Any gift, talent, or ability of yours did not originate from your stellar gene pool – it came from the Father. So, give Him the glory He deserves as you serve others with your God-given abilities.

Joseph spent his meanwhile encouraging others and using his God-given gifts to bring hope to people who were discouraged. He didn’t waste his meanwhile; instead, he turned it into a ministry. The ability to encourage someone might start with a simple question, “How are you doing?” Just as Joseph did.

One of the mysteries of life is the timing in which our good Father operates. This mystery is magnified in the story of Joseph’s meanwhile. Joseph’s life was revolutionized in one stunning moment when God intervened. His meanwhile was coming to a climactic conclusion as Pharaoh continued to shower this young man with blessings and favor.

God had spoken through Joseph and given him a plan to save the world during a famine. Joseph’s name translated means “Abundance of Life” and “God’s Word Speaking Life.” Do you realize that God wants to speak through you as well? God deeply desires for His eternal life to live through your miraculous life, bringing joy to the world. Would you read that sentence one more time? You have just read what God’s will is for your life. I have summed it up in one glorious sentence.

When God speaks, He will move heaven and earth on your behalf. He is able to change the hearts of rulers, jailers, husbands, and bosses. When you, as a child of God, walk through life with honor and integrity, you will receive the “Joseph Blessing.” When you live with moral excellence and undeniable trust, the “Joseph Blessing” will follow you all of your days.

When an ordinary man or a common woman determines that he or she will partner with the eternal God to make a resounding difference at his or her moment in history, the extraordinary occurs.
